Kathmandu, July 5: The traffic in the road section of Kavrepalanchowk has been completely disrupted after the bridge bordering ward 4 and 1 of Banepa Municipality of Kavrepalanchowk district broke down.
The road section along the Chyamsing of Bhaktapur and Nala of Kavrepalanchowk road section is being used as the alternative route entering Kathmandu Valley from eastern Nepal.
It is reported that the bridge was built on 1980 AD.
Local Shanta Lal Shrestha said that the bridge, built 45 years ago, broke down when the heavy trucks carrying books passed through in the wee hours of Saturady. The road section has been complelty disrupted with the break down of bridge.
With this, vehicular movement entering and exiting from Kathmandu Valley has been completely shut down.
According to the Traffic Office Banepa, it is said to not send vehicles from Bhaktapur in that road section and vehicles entering to Kathmandu Valley from Banepa has been stopped at Banepa.
According to the Chief of office Police Inspector Sunil Dhaju, co-ordination is underway with road division office and locals to resume traffic temporarily in the road section.
