Student artworks on display

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 28: An art exhibition showcasing student-created artworks under the Sketching and Sculpture module of the Education with Skills programme began in Kathmandu on Friday. 

Jointly organised by the Education Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, the programme was conducted across 46 schools under the metropolis. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Chancellor of the Academy, Naradmani Hartamchhali.

 Highlighting the integration of education and art, Chancellor Hartamchhali said, “Although it may appear simple, this is a reflection of childhood in our society. It forms a foundational basis for shaping individuals who will, in the future, move creatively into intellectual and academic domains and become distinguished personalities.”

Member Secretary of the Academy, Devendra Kumar Kafle ‘Thumkeli’ said that the exhibition features paintings and sculptures created by over 1,300 students.

The exhibition, which will run until July 1, features artworks created by students from various schools under Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

In addition, another exhibit titled “Unity” has also been launched, featuring artworks created by instructors and assistant instructors involved in the training. This exhibition will continue until June 1.
