Harayeko Hira released

blog

By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, June 19: Shyam Bikram Neupane from Lamjung has published an epic titled ‘Harayeko Hira.’

According to Neupane, he wrote the epic during the six-month basic administrative training conducted after being selected as a Section Officer through the Public Service Commission.

The epic was launched at the graduation ceremony of Section Officers held at the Nepal Administrative Staff College, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur.

The launch was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Ek Narayan Aryal, Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Rabi Lal Panth,  Executive Director of the Nepal Administrative Staff College, Dr. Rajan Khanal,  Deputy Executive Director Bishnu Lamsal,  Senior Study Director Trilochan Pokhrel, and Basanta Raj Sigdel, among others.

Neupane said that the epic symbolically presents the ‘lost diamond’ to reflect the nation’s gradual shift from self-reliance to dependency, the increasing foreign interference, the outmigration of youth leaving behind only the elderly in society, and the decline in production.

Alongside these critical issues, the epic also envisions a future where, through the tireless efforts of generations, the society redevelops into a self-sufficient and globally just leadership nation.

The foreword of the epic is written by senior literary critic Prof. Dr. Devi Nepal. Neupane, a resident of Besishahar Municipality–11 and currently serving as a Section Officer, had previously written a few individual poems.

Prof. Dr. Devi Nepal praised the author, stating that it is commendable for a young writer to publish a full epic without publishing any Khandakavya previously.
