By Our Correspondent,Dhambojhi, June 18: Antaral is hosting the 4th edition of the Nepalgunj Photo Festival on June 18 and 19 in Nepalgunj.
The photo festival feature both a photo exhibition and a photography training session.
According to Antaral’s Chief Executive Jay Narayan Shah, a total of 111 photographs selected by the jury from entries submitted nationwide for the national photo competition will be displayed at the festival.
These selected photos will receive certificates and will also be showcased in exhibitions held in Nepalgunj.
Additionally, the selected photos will be included in a photo book to be published by Antaral.
The selection of the photos was carried out by a jury led by senior photojournalist Bikas Karki, with senior photographer Ramesh Malla and photojournalist Keshav Thokar as members.
Journalist Nishu Joshi has been appointed as the coordinator of the festival. Joshi was the winner of the Photo of the Year title during the second edition of the festival.
Maitya Gharti Magar from Rukum won title in the first edition, and journalist Raj Bahadur Shahi from Mugu won the third edition.
Among the 111 selected photos, the jury will choose one as the best photograph, which will be awarded the Photo of the Year 2081 award.
This is the biggest and most prestigious prize of the national photo competition under the Nepalgunj Photo Festival. The award includes a cash prize of Rs. 51,111 and a certificate.
Meanwhile, this year, the photo receiving the highest number of public votes will be awarded the People’s Choice Award.
Out of the jury-selected photos, the top 31 have been shortlisted for public voting.

Photographers whose works have been shortlisted among the top 31 for the People’s Choice Award include Ambir Tolang, Bobby Sai, Teel Thapa Magar, Shankar Bhujel, Sanjay Maharjan, Amit Rawal, Romin Tharu, Aryan Dhimal, Bijay Thapa, Tilak Gaha Magar, Bhuwan Shrestha, Dilchan Pun, Himal Gaire, Jiwan Lama, Keshav Neupane, Ramu Oli, Bramha Budha, Manoj Paudel, Shankar Bhujel, Maitya Gharti Magar, and Binay Rawal.
More than 2,100 photographs from across the country were submitted for the competition.
