By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 15: Senior singer Jujukaji Ranjit and senior writer Subarna Keshari Chitrakar were presented with the Ganes Devi Smriti Award on Saturday. 

The award was presented by Dr. Maheshman Shrestha, at a programme organized by the Ganesh Devi Foundation.

In 2022 BS, Jujukaji Ranjit and Subarna Keshari Chitrakar played leading roles in the Nepalbhasha Language Movement by pasting handwritten wall posters overnight against the then Rana regime and through singing. 

The award was presented by Language Commission member Suresh Kiran Manandhar, who said that it was presented in memory of the fact that they had been playing a leading role in the Nepalbhasha Language Movement.
