Gandaki, June 12: Three road projects are under construction in Pokhara Metropolitan City under the Nepal Urban Governance Infrastructure Project.

The Talchok-Begnas road, Shishuwa-Sisaghat road, and Dobilla-Baghmara-Lameahaal-Puditar road are being upgraded with the financial assistance of the World Bank.

Engineer Nabin Gautam from the Road Department, Pokhara Metropolitan City said that a project agreement was signed between the Pokhara Metropolitan City and the Urban Development and Building Construction Department in March 2021, and road construction has progressed.

He said that the project agreement, which was for five years, has now been extended by one year.

Among the three roads, the physical progress of the 4.14 kilometres long Sishuwa-Sisaghat road has reached 65 percent, while that of the other two roads is seen to be minimal.

Engineer Gautam said that the physical progress of the 3.28 kilometres long four-lane road connecting Pokhara-27, Talchok to Begnas is 55 percent and the 12.44 kilometres Dobilla-Baghmara-Lameahal-Puditar road has reached 40 percent.
