Dangol's demise an irreparable loss to NC, says Deuba

Kathmandu, May 8: Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that demise of democratic fighter and NC leader Tirtharam Dangol was an irreparable loss to the party.     

At a condolence meeting on the 13th day of Dangol's passing away organized by NC Katmandu District Committee on Thursday, President Deuba recalled Dangol as a man with simplicity and unwavering determination. Leader Dangol's death was a great loss to the country and the society.     

Appreciating the role played by Dangol for the nation's democratic movement, Deuba asked the party committee to publish a relevant and useful book by incorporating Dangol's sacrifices, struggle, experience, lifestyle and dedication.     

Sharing his long association with Dangol, NC President Deuba termed Dangol as a man of integrity.     

NC leader and Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh said that Dangol was an idealistic politician with simplicity, honesty and integrity.     

NC leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel, NC leader Dilendra Prasad Badu and others recalled the contributions of Dangol to Nepal's democratic movements and his honesty in politics and social life.     

NC leader and former State Minister for Health Dangol passed away on April 25 at the age of 77.     

During his political journey, Dangol served as the treasurer and district committee president of the Nepali Congress in Kathmandu, and also the deputy mayor of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.(RSS)
