By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 6: Various journalists associated with the Gorkhapatra Corporation will receive awards on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Gorkhapatra daily and the 63rd anniversary of the Gorkhapatra Corporation on Wednesday.
On the occasion, Gorkhapatra publication has announced the names of its eight journalists, one each from all seven provinces and one from the Kathmandu Valley, for the Best Stringers Awards for their outstanding performance.
A committee formed to pick the winners recommended Baburam Karki, Barah Kshetra reporter of Sunsari from Koshi Province, Vijay Kumar Sah, Dhalkebar reporter of Dhanusa from Madhesh, Anil Parajuli, Hetauda reporter of Makawanpur from Bagmati, Thakur Prasad Acharya, Beni reporter of Myagdi from Gandaki, Janu Pandey, Kapilvastu reporter from Lumbini, Muna Hamal, Birendranagar reporter of Surkhet from Karnali and Pushkar Raj Bhandari, Dadeldhura reporter from Sudupashchim for the prize.
Similarly, Nagendra Sapkota is going to be awarded among the Kathmandu Valley reporters.
Likewise, Ram Chandra-Indu Journalism Award-2025, founded by the Gorkhapatra chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), will be presented to Vijay Chalise, former Executive Chairman of Gorkhapatra Corporation and also former Editor-in-Chief of the Gorkhapatra daily.
Editor of Yuvamanch Monthly, Umesh Ojha, will be awarded with Gorkhapatra Journalism Award-2025.
The Rising Nepal's Binu Subedi and Gorkhapatraonline.com's Sapana Thami will be awarded the Gorkhapatra Active Journalism Award 2025.
Similarly, Gorkhapatra Daily's Bhesh Raj Belbase and Proof Reading Section's Tirtha Raj Adhikari will be awarded with Suman-Bhomjan Memorial Journalism Award-2025.
