NC to second govt. policies and programs with constructive feedback

Kathmandu, May 3: The ruling Nepali Congress party has decided to participate in the discussions on the policies and programs of the government for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 with positive and constructive feedback, while expressing its support to it.     

The parliamentary party meeting held today under the chair of party president and parliamentary party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor decided to second the policies and programs presented by the Government on Friday.     

Parliamentary party chief whip Shyam Ghimire shared that the meeting decided to suggest to the government to formulate the upcoming budget in commensurate with the policies and programs. He said that the meeting also decided that the parliamentarians shall play an active role to speed up the pace of bill passage in the parliament.     

Similarly, as per the agreement reached with the Nepal Teachers Federation, a commitment has been expressed to pass the School Education Bill by July 29. The meeting condemned the death of a Nepali student studying at KIIT in Odisha, India, and the incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India while urging for an investigation.     

More than 20 lawmakers expressed their views on the government's policies and programs and contemporary political issues in the meeting.(RSS)
