Kathmandu, May 3: Chairman of the
CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'
has said press has a vital role in enforcing constitution and
institutionalizing federal democratic republic.
Giving a message of best wishes on
the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day today, Chairman Dahal expressed
belief that the Day would inspire journalists to work fairly and
accountably.
"The media has played a
significant role in institutionalizing the achievements of people's movement
for the cause of political and social transformation in Nepal," he said,
adding that the media sector would devote continuously for the implementation
of constitutional and legal provisions on human rights.
He further wished the Day inspired
all to work for the respect of free expression and press freedom to build and
prosperous and equitable society. (RSS)
