By Radha Luitel, Phidim, Apr.15: Tourists from as far away as India and Bhutan have visited Panchthar to attend the 8th Chauri Festival.
The Chaur Festival, which began at Char Ratte, an altitude of 3,450 meters in Panchthar, has attracted hundreds of people to watch the Chauri.
Every year, on the first day of the New Year, a Chauri festival is held here, with hundreds of Chauri brought and displayed.
Domestic and foreign tourists come from as far as India and Bhutan to witness the Chauri Festival said that they were thrilled by the four-night long Chauri festival and vast green pastureland.
The Chauri Festival, organized here from April 13 to 15, attracted domestic and foreign tourists, especially from Panchthar, Taplejung, Terhathum, Ilam, and Jhapa, as well as neighboring countries like India (Sikkim, West Bengal, Punjab) and Bhutan.
"We experienced heavenly bliss in the open meadows on the high mountains, covered in mist in one moment, then sunshine in the next, cool breeze and various kinds of flowers," said Prabhakar Sharma, a visitor from Punjab.
The ever-changing weather pattern came out to be the cherry on top.
