By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Apr. 12: An international conference on Advancing Health Education, Research, and Innovation has kicked in Lalitpur on Saturday.
The 2-day conference is being jointly organised by the Central Department of Education of the Tribhuvan University and the Health Education Association Nepal (HEAN), with support from the University Grants Commission.
Professor Dr. Bhimsen Devkota, Chairperson of HEAN, informed at a press conference that over 26 research papers will be presented by experts active in the health sector from countries including Nepal, the United States, the United Kingdom, and India.
He also mentioned that HEAN's 17th General Assembly and the election of a new central committee will take place alongside the conference.
Keynote speakers include Professor Samrat Sinha from Jindal University in India, Associate Professor Dr. Sarah Bowman from the University of Pittsburgh in the United States, and British health expert Dr. Pushpa Raj Pant.
Speaking at the press conference, HEAN Vice President Dr. Kalpana Gyawali highlighted the critical importance of health education, stressing the need for stakeholders to prioritise it in policy-making.
She noted that with ongoing global research in the field, the two-day conference will provide a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences among international experts.
HEAN's General Secretary Dr. Bhagwan Aryal shared that around 300 participants from Nepal and abroad are attending the event.
