By Bijay Kumar Sah,Dhalkebar, Apr. 12: Ten minor political parties in Madhes, which were not included in the seven-party Madhes Front, are preparing to form a new alliance. The alliance aims to establish an alternative political force in Madhes under the leadership of former Home Minister Mohammad Rizwan Ansari.

Ram Kumar Mahato, National Chairman of the Nepal Sadbhavana Party, stated that preparations are underway for an alliance among smaller parties active in the Terai-Madhesh region. According to him, the alliance seeks to advocate for the rights of the oppressed, marginalised, and underprivileged communities across Nepal.

Discussions are ongoing among the Nepal Sadbhavana Party Nepal, Federal Socialist Party, Nepali Janata Dal, Historical Janata Party, Bahujan Ekta Party Nepal, Jan Adhikar Party Nepal, Rastriya Mukti Party, and other like-minded groups. Chairman Mahato informed that the Nepal Sadbhavana Party has taken the initiative to bring together key representatives of these parties around a shared agenda.

“The new alliance will be officially announced at a press conference on April 17. Following that, a grand assembly will be held in Janakpurdham on Jestha 15 to formally present the alliance,” he said.

Chairman Mahato stressed the need for a robust political force to counter the government's attempts to undermine constitutional gains such as federalism, proportional inclusion, secularism and democracy under the pretext of constitutional amendments.

He further revealed that the new alliance plans to launch a nationwide public awareness campaign across 18 districts, uniting oppressed groups and communities in the process.
