Patan (Lalitpur), April 11: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari, has expressed concern over lack of skilled human resources in the country despite immense possibility of employment in the country.
At a programme organized to review and exchange experience of 'State-Up' project run by Swisscontact Nepal here today, Minister Bhandari shared that more than 400,000 unskilled workers were forced to go abroad in lack of skill as per the needs of employers
The government would pay attention to make the system connecting employers and aspirant employees timely and technology-friendly.
"Now we will build a channel to connect with different national and international employers. The government will facilitate all of these things", he argued.
Stating that the government has set a goal of maintaining good governance through service deliver based on technology, the Labour Employment expressed the commitment to make arrangement of employment system increasing easy access of all to the service.
Minister Bhandari stressed that every municipality should create employment opportunity by creating quota for employment assistant.
Similarly, Mayor of Biratnagar metropolis Nagesh Koirala opined that Swisscontact has played a significant role to connect youths and women with entrepreneurship and employment and it has made positive impact on community.
"Around 23 per cent of youths are still unemployed in Koshi Province. We have to make efforts to make them employed. There will be support of the organization on it", added Mayor Koirala.
Likewise, National Programme Director of Prime Minister Employment Programme, Dundu Raj Ghimire said the project run at different local levels in Koshi Province has made positive impacts.
Mayor of Duhabi municipality, Bed Narayan Gachchhadar shared that result and learning of the project would have long-term impacts to connect with employment and entrepreneurship, expressing the view that it has helped to connect youths with programmes related to entrepreneurship.
Similarly, Country Director for Swisscontact Nepal, Sanjay Dhoj Karki, mentioned that financial and technical support was received from Hapel Foundation and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation for the implementation of the project run in Nepal from February 2021-March 2025.(RSS)
