Khotang, April 11: A two-day 'Red Panda and Tahr Festival-2082' is being held here from next Monday on the occasion of 'Mundum Trail Visit Year-2025'.
The objective of the festival
organized by Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality is to conserve and
promote the endangered Red Panda and Himalayan Tahr, said Mayor Tirtha Raj
Bhattarai. The Red Panda and Tahr are both endangered species of wild animals native
to the country.
The festival is being at Hurlung on
the Diktel-Halesi road section along the Mid-Hill Highway. It will also include
food festival, display of local costumes, lifestyle and products according to
the customs and culture of various ethnic groups in the region.

Panda and Tahr will be exhibited and screened during the festival.
On the occasion, the ‘Mundum Trail
Red Panda-Tahr Route’, which starts from Hurlung on the Diktel-Halesi road
section of the Mid-Hill Highway, will be inaugurated by actor Dayahang Rai, the
goodwill ambassador of ‘Mundum Trail Visit Year-2025’.
The Mundum Trail Visit Year-2025 is
in effect with the target of attracting around one hundred thousand domestic
and foreign tourists. (RSS)
