Nepal defeats Afghanistan by 85 runs in U19 ODI

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, April 9: Nepal defeated Afghanistan by 85 runs in the under-19 One Day International (ODI) match at Mulpani Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

Batting first Nepal posted a target of 192 runs for Afghanistan.

In response, Afghanistan managed 46 runs in a loss of 6 wickets before rain disrupted the match in 20.1 overs. Later following the DLS method Nepal was declared the winner with 85 runs.

Afghanistan's Faisal Shinozada scored 16 and Azizullah Mia khil scored 15 runs. Other batsmen failed to score runs in double digits.

To secure a consolation win against Afghanistan, Nepali bowler Aprajit Poudel took two wickets whereas Dayanand Mandal, Bipin Sharma, Santosh Yadav and Ashok Dhami took a single wicket each resulted in limiting Afghanistan to a state of 46 runs in 6 wickets.
