Kathmandu, April 8: Mercure Kathmandu, a five-star hotel at local Sukedhara, has provided financial assistance to the Cancer Care Nepal, which has been supporting the treatment of poor people suffering from cancer.
Deshbandhu Basnet, proprietor of
Mercure Kathmandu, handed over a cheque of Rs 500,000 to actress Manisha
Koirala, the honorary chairperson of Cancer Care Nepal at a programme here on
Monday.
On the occasion, actress Koirala
thanked the Hotel for their support and said that the assistance would be
fruitful and important for the victims of cancer. She also expressed the view
that long-term cooperation was expected between the organization and the
hotel.
"Cancer Care Nepal has been
supporting cancer patients who are financially weak. This support from Mercure
Kathmandu has helped and encouraged them in the fight against cancer in the
coming days,” she added.
Basnet said Mercure Kathmandu is
excited to provide the financial support through the Cancer Care Nepal to the
needy cancer patients. He said that they would collaborate with the
organization to help the cancer victims in the coming days as well.
Dr Madan Kumar Piya, Chairperson of
Cancer Care Nepal, said that the organization has been providing free treatment
to cancer patients who cannot afford treatment for a long time. (RSS)
