Nepal loses to Afghanistan by one run in U19 ODI

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, April 6: Afghanistan defeated Nepal by one run in the under-19 One Day International (ODI) match at Mulpani Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Batting first Afghanistan posted a target of 169-run before being all out in 50 over. Afghanistan's Mahboob Khan scored 58 runs, Roohullah Arab 27, Uzairullah Niazai 19, Nazifullah Amiri 16, Khatir Stanikzai 11 and Khalid Ahmadzai scored 10 runs. Other batsmen failed to score runs in double digits.

To limit Afghanistan to a small total Nepal's Santosh Yadav took three wickets alone. Bipin Sharma and Cibrin Shrestha took two wickets each, whereas Abhisekh Tiwari and Aprajit Poudel took a single wicket each. 

In response, Nepal became all out just scored just 167 runs in 49.3 overs.

Nepal's Sahil Patel scored 64 runs, Abhisekh Tiwari 24, Dhurv Sonar 21, Niraj Kumar Yadav 15, Naren Bhatta 13, Roshan Bishwakarma 9, Dilsad Ali 8, Santosh Yadav 4 and Cibrin Shrestha scored two runs but couldn't make Nepal winner.

Afghanistan's Wahidullah Zadran, Zaitullah Shaheen and Hafeez Zadran took two wickets each whereas Roohullah Arab, Mahboob Khan and Uzairullah Niazai took a single wicket each.
