Kathmandu, March 12: The Bill designed to amend some Nepal Acts related to Cooperatives, 2081, has been tabled in the House of Representatives.
In today's HoR meeting, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Bal Ram Adhikari, presented the Bill.
In response to queries from lawmakers who opposed the Bill, Minister Adhikari said the government has formed a Problematic Cooperatives Management Committee to resolve the problems of cooperatives as well as resolve problems of three cooperatives out of 22 troubled cooperatives declared by the government.
He also shared that the government had become successful to return the savings of depositors of 10 cooperatives.
Lawmakers—Prabhu Sah, Rajendra Prasad Pandey, prem Suwal, Mina Tamang, Rupa Soshi (Chaudhary), Chitra Bahadur KC, Ram Kumar Rai, Lekhnath Dahal, Purna Bajadur Gharti Magar and Sumana Shrestha had registered notes of dissent on the Bill.(RSS)
