Kathmandu, March 4: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, today inaugurated the implementation of Shankarpur Lake Integrated Irrigation and Water Resources Conservation Project based in Bijayanagar rural municipality-2 in Kapilvastu.
The project aims to ensure irrigation facilities to 700 hectares of agricultural land at the rural municipality's wards 3 and 4.
The Water Resources Management
Project is implementing the irrigation project and the contract to this end was
signed on December 17, 2024 between the Project Office and the Babul Lumbini
Sanskriti JV Siddharthanagar, Rupandehi.
According to Project Chief Avinashi
Sigdel, a total of 1,715 households in the locality will be benefitted from
it.
On the occasion, the Minister
stressed the need for concluding the project on time, urging the locals to be
vigilant towards that end.
The deadline for the Project is two
years and its estimated cost is Rs 190 million. (RSS)
