Province-level Art Competition concludes

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 24: The Lumbini Province-level Art Competition held in Butwal as part of the Lumbini Province-level Art Exhibition concluded on Sunday.  

Organised by the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, students from 16 schools competed in the competition, which was based on themes reflecting the art and culture of Lumbini Province. 

In the competition, Saphalata Paudel from Siddhartha English Boarding School secured first place, Rakshya Sunar from Mani Mukunda School came second, Prasiddhi Basnet from Tinau English Boarding School stood third, and Aryan Pariyar from Canon Secondary School received the consolation prize.

 The chief guest, Dineshwor Mahato, head of the Sculpture Department of NAFA awarded them certificates along with various art materials.

Artist Keshav Raj Khanal and the judge of the competition said that while all student artists had created excellent artwork, the selection for awards was based on the given theme. On the second day of the Lumbini Provincial Art Exhibition, there was a large turnout of visitors. 

Students, teachers, and renowned personalities from Butwal and surrounding municipalities attended the exhibition. On this day, artist Nar Bahadur BK conducted a painting demonstration.
