Inaugurating the exhibition, Keshar Bahadur Khatri, Ward Chairperson of Kanchan Rural Municipality  Ward No. 4, expressed his belief that the exhibition of these old photographs would help students closely observe and understand the past state of Nepal and the lifestyle of its people.

Likewise, Basanta Thapa, Treasurer of the Toni Hagen Foundation Nepal and founding editor of Himal Magazine, said that Toni Hagen travelled extensively across Nepal during his visit, capturing images of the country’s geography, people and way of life.

He further added that only selected photographs of Hagen were displayed in the exhibition.

Highlighting that Toni Hagen was not just a geologist but also a photojournalist, Thapa said that the rare and historical photographs taken during his travels provide valuable insights into Nepal’s past and its development over time.
