By Raju Lamichhane,West Rukum, Feb. 9: Two new school buildings have been constructed in Aathbiskot Municipality of West Rukum district in Karnali Province.

Janajyoti Basic School Danfe and Bhanubhakta Basic School Auligaun in Ward No. 7 of Aathbiskot Municipality were inaugurated on the same day.

The school buildings have been constructed under the President's Educational Reform Programme.

Inaugurating the newly constructed building, Rabi KC, Mayor of the Aathbiskot Municipality, said that the construction of the school buildings would facilitate teaching and learning activities.

The two school buildings having four rooms each were constructed for Rs. 7.3 million each, said K.C.

The teaching-learning activity was hampered as the schools lacked adequate classrooms. After the construction of school buildings, the teaching-learning activity can be carried out smoothly and the school would not face the shortage of classrooms anymore, said Ward Chairperson Amrit Budha.

Many school buildings in Aathbiskot Municipality were destroyed by last year's earthquake. Due to the lack of buildings in some schools here, classes were being held in temporary learning centers.

Recently, the process of construction of the damaged school buildings has been started with the help of the Karnali Provincial government and various agencies.

Similarly, Bhakta Bahadur Budha of Aathbiskot Municipality-1 has supported the school where he studied.

Budha, who works in the Nepal Army, provided a water purification machine to Shai Kumari Secondary School in Ward No. 1 and educational materials to the students studying in the school.

He handed over a water purification machine along with notebooks and pens worth Rs. 60,000.
