Koshi Province registers bill to establish provincial communication institution

By Our Correspondent,Biratnagar, Feb. 8: The Koshi Province Government registered a bill related to mass communication with the Provincial Assembly Secretariat. The bill, aimed at passing in the current session, includes provisions for establishing the "Koshi Provincial Communication Institution" and appointing the Provincial Press Registrar.

The government plans to introduce policies, laws, and standards for the operation of information technology and electronic media at the provincial level. It also proposes a framework for licensing, permitting, renewing, registering, promoting, and regulating communication media. The creation of a communication institution is intended to implement these tasks in an integrated manner.

The bill, drafted under the authority of Article 175 of Nepal's Constitution, includes provisions for registering, renewing, recording, and managing various types of media at the provincial level.
