‘Sano Sansar’ selected for NIFF National Competition

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 28:‘Sano Sansar’ a Nepali feature film, has been selected for the National Competition category at the 8th Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF), scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from March 20 to 24.

 This was announced by the Nepal Film and Cultural Academy, which is hosting the festival. 

On January 15, the festival organisers revealed that 87 films from 40 countries were shortlisted for the festival from over 600 submissions across 70 countries. Among the selected films for the Nepali feature film competition, ‘Bhutan’ was removed after its producers expressed dissatisfaction, citing a lack of information regarding its selection.

Following its removal, the organisers announced a public call for submissions through social media, inviting interested filmmakers to apply. From the submissions received, ‘Sano Sansar’ was selected, as confirmed by the organisers in  an official press statement.
