By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 29: A ‘Grand Photo and Exhibition’ depicting the history of the Nepali Army began at the Army Headquarters on Tuesday.
Began with the objective of providing the general public with information on various aspects of the Nepali Army photographs, weapons, artillery, uniforms, equipment, and military-related materials reflecting the activities of the Nepali Army from the past to the present are put in the four-day exhibition.
Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel inaugurated the exhibition during a programme held at the Army Headquarters on Tuesday.
On the occasion, the Chief of Army Staff distributed awards and certificates to the top three non-military photographers, three Nepali Army units, and one photographer from the Directorate of Public Relations and Information for the Nepali Army Photo Competition 2081.
Additionally, General Sigdel honoured the evaluation committee members with appreciation certificates. Following the programme, the Chief of Army Staff and other guests observed the exhibition.
The exhibition features a total of 29 stalls, encompassing activities such as military uniforms, the military band, military aviation services, horse riding, jungle and mountain warfare, the role of special forces, conservation of national parks and wildlife reserves, peacekeeping missions, infrastructure development, disaster management, sports, military schools and the national service corps.
The exhibition will be open to the public free of charge from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm until January 31.
The programme was attended by the Chairperson of the Army Wives Association, the Chief of Staff, the Inspector General of Armed Police Force Nepal, the Chief Investigation Director of the National Investigation Department, generals, former directors of the Directorate of Public Relations and Information, military advisors, officers, journalists, and other dignitaries.
