Over 39,000 girls in Dang to be administered HPV vaccines

By Liladhar Oli, Ghorahi, Jan.23:  Over 39,000 adolescent girls studying from Grade 6 to 10 in Dang district will be vaccinated against human papillomavirus (HPV), the leading cause of cervical cancer.     

According to the District Health Office, 39,450 girls in ten local levels of the district will be inoculated with (HPV) vaccine.

Chief of the District Health Office, Dang, Kishor Acharya, said that 37,205 adolescent girls studying in school and 2,245 adolescents outside of schools making a total of 39, 450 adolescent girls will be inoculated against HPV in Dang. 

According to Chief Acharya, 447 vaccination centers have been designated in the district to vaccinate adolescent girls who are studying in 391 schools. 

Of the total 447 vaccination centers, 435 vaccination centers are in schools and 12 are outside schools.
