By Bomlal Giri, Nawalpur, Jan.22: 60 per cent of the construction work of the modern petrol pump,
being built at Kawasoti which serves as the administrative headquarters for Nawalpur
district, has been completed in five months.
Chief of the District Police Office, Nawalpur,
Superintendent of Police (SP) Yadav Dhakal said that 60 per cent of the
construction work of the petrol pump, which is being built by the Nepal Police
Headquarters, Welfare Division, has been completed within five months.
Alfa Hex/Tejaswi J.V.Chauri Deurali-5 Kavre has shouldered
the responsibility of the construction of this petrol pump. The construction
work was started on August 18 this year to be completed within a year.
Additional Inspector General of Police Tek Prasad Rai laid
the foundation stone of the pump on August 18.
A petrol pump is being constructed at Phalphul Chowk which
is in front of the District Police Office standing along the Mahendra Highway
area. This pump is being built on 22 acres of land owned by the police.
Earlier, fruit vendors used to see fruits in the place where
now the pump is being constructed.
Police have called this petrol pump a model of the country.
He said that the pumps opened by the police will provide
quality fuel as well as petroleum products even in times of crisis.
The pump is going to be built at a cost of more than 109 million
nine hundred fifty-four thousand rupees of the police welfare fund.
This initiative has also faced criticism in line with the
opinion that the agency under the government of Nepal should not be indulged in
profit-making business.
