Myagdi, Jan. 16: Rafting has been launched on the Kaligandaki River on the occasion of 8th Myagdi Festival going on at Beni of Myagdi district.
Narayan GC, General Secretary of the Myagdi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, informed that rafting was conducted from Galeshwor of Beni to Kaligandaki and confluence of the Kaligandaki River targeting tourists visiting the festival. He said that tickets were made available at the ticket booth nearby the venue of the festival.
Nepal River X Polar Pvt. Ltd. will operate the rafting throughout the festival period. Various packages for the rafting, from Galeshwor to Dovan in Beni, Naya Pul in Parbat and Mirmi, have been arranged, said Santosh Giri, operator of the company. He said, "The rafting on the Kaligandaki is very enjoyable. This season is ideal for such tours. We ensure safety measures and will guide tourists on the river."
Giri further shared that the short one-hour rafting between Galeshwor and Beni, a distance of three kilometres, will cost Rs. 800 per person. According to him, eight to 10 people can participate in the journey at a time. Additionally, tourists will have the option of longer packages, such as from Beni to Maldhunga, Naya Pul, Kusma and up to Mirmi.
