Narayanghat-Butwal section of East-west highway disrupted

By Bomlal Giri, Nawalpur, Jan.  8: The Narayanghat-Butwal section of the East-West Highway has been completely disrupted due to thick fog and cold waves.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at District Police Office Ramesh Bohora said that the road has been disrupted because of heavy fog and cold waves at Khursani Khola of Bardaghat Municipality-4 Nawalparasi, making it slippery. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Bohora said that the road has remained blocked in both directions since 1:30 PM and more than 250 vehicles are stuck in traffic.

The police said that it is tough to operate large and cargo vehicles due to the slippery road.

Bohora said that although efforts are being made for the smooth movement of vehicles they are facing difficulties.

The districts of Terai have been experiencing heavy fog and cold waves till early morning since the beginning of the second half of December It has affected the elderly, children, and even transportation.
