Kathmandu, Jan 5: The five-day-long 2nd South Asia International Book Fair held in Kathmandu concluded on Sunday.
As high as 10,000 visitors attended the Fair that had 98 stalls of publishers, investors and entrepreneurs from Nepal, India, China, Pakistan, Thailand and others.
Speaker of House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire concluded the event amidst a function saying that the reading culture helps develop an individual's consciousness, intelligence, information and knowledge.
Ghimire observed that the Nepali society was away from the reading culture in the recent time.
Province Assembly Member Raghunath Maharjan, senior humorists Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansa Acharya, and other speakers shared their views on the importance of the book fair.(RSS)
