APF defeat Bagmati 5-1

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 5: Defending champions Armed Police Force (APF) Club began their campaign in the Final Round of ANFA Women’s League 2024 with a dominating win. They defeated Bagmati Youth Club 5-2 on Match Day 3 at ANFA Complex on Saturday.

Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored a hattrick for APF while Gita Rana (27') and Anita KC (59') contributed with one goal each. Ghising scored her first two goals in six minutes (6' and 12') but her third came in the 70th minute.  Ghising’s first goal was assisted by Renuka Nagarkote while the second came from a header during a corner kick. Her third came with a one-two with Preeti Rai. Ghising was adjudged the player of the match for three goals. 

However, despite the dominating performance, APF could not keep a clean sheet. Pushpa Kumari Khadka capitalised on an opportunity in the 17th minute to give Bagmati a consolation goal.

Losing to Army in the first game on January 2 by 2-0, Khadka’s goal was the first and only goal for Bagmati in the final round.
