Swarnalaxmi Cooperatives: Police submit report to district attorney

Kathmandu, Jan 2: The District Police Office, Kathmandu on Thursday submitted its report to the District Attorney Office, Kathmandu on the investigation on embezzlement of deposits in Swarnalaxmi Multipurpose Cooperatives of Kalimati.     

The police report has argued 44 persons including Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane, could be sued, according to Spokesperson at Kathmandu District Police Sector, Nawaraj Adhikari.     

In the investigation report, the police have demanded the recovery of Rs 1.19 billion from the defendants. The fraud was committed in an organized manner, the police argued.     

In the fraud on Swarnalaxmi Cooperatives fund, 44 persons have been issued arrest warrants.     

Meanwhile, the District Attorney Office, Kathmandu informed that it would study the report and proceed for prosecution accordingly.(RSS)
