BY A STAFF REPORTER,Kathmandu, Dec. 16: Campus and hostel buildings of Sushma Koirala Memorial Nursing Campus in Kathmandu have been handed over to the campus management.
Santosh Budhathoki, Chief of the District Coordination Committee, Kathmandu and Avinash Kumar Singh, First Secretary of the Embassy of India, jointly handed over the building on Friday. Issuing a press statement, the Embassy of India informed that the building was built with the financial assistance of Rs.29.24 million from the Government of India under ' The Nepal-India Development Cooperation.'
The Indian grant under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ was utilised for the construction of the two-storied classroom block, a two-storied hostel block and other allied facilities. The project was taken up as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) and was implemented through the District Coordination Committee, Kathmandu.
The building is expected to be useful in providing professional nursing education facilities to students of Sushma Koirala Memorial Nursing Campus in Kathmandu and creating an improved environment for learning as well as contributing to the overall development of the education sector in this region.
Sushma Koirala Memorial Nursing Campus was established in the year 2000. It is affiliated to Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTE&VT). The Campus provides a three-year Proficiency Certificate Level course in Nursing and produces 120 trained nurses every year.
