289 students of Lumbini Buddhist University graduated

The third convocation ceremony of the Lumbini Buddhist University in Lumbini

Lumbini, Nov 29: A total of 289 students have been officially graduated in the third convocation ceremony of the Lumbini Buddhist University in Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.     

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli graduated those students from various faculties including doctoral candidates.     

On the occasion, PM Oli honoured venerable Bhikkhuni (nun) Dhammawati Guruma with honorary doctorate.     

The 91-year old Guruma, born in Lalitpur district, was feted in recognition of her incomparable contributions towards development of Buddhist religion, philosophies as well as towards women empowerment.     

Also, PM Oli conferred the title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on five candidates.(RSS)
