By Ravindra Upreti, Bardibas, Nov.28: Police have arrested two people in possession of brown sugar in an ambulance operated by Primary Health Care Center, Kapilakot, Sindhuli.
Police seized 10 grams which were kept in an ambulance (BA Pra 1-002 Jha 6690) en route towards Sindhuli from Bardibas and arrested two people including the ambulance driver.
The team of security officials deployed by Area Police Office Bardibas searched the ambulance on Bardibas-3 along BP Highway on Wednesday night after receiving the information that drugs were being transported from BP Highway.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Revati Raman Pokharel said that brown sugar was recovered hidden inside the microphone of the ambulance siren during the search.
The police have suspected that others might also be involved in the brown sugar business.
Police will not disclose the name of the two accused immediately in public saying that it can affect the course of the investigation.
Investigation into the matter is underway by Bardibas Area Police.
The recovered ambulance has been handed over to the said health center by Marin Rural Municipality of Sindhuli district.
