Dadeldhura, Nov 17: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and his spouse Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba attended the Ugratara fair, popularly known as Dehijat in the far-west area. The fair started on Friday evening concluded on Saturday evening.
Former Prime Minister Deuba
received Prashad in the fair and pledged to ensure physical infrastructure
development for the Veda Bidhyashram there.
Ugratara fair takes place on the
evening of Kartik Shukla Purnina and Kartik Shukla Pratipada every year.
The fair taking place in the
nighttime is called Ratedi and the one taking place on Pratipada is called
Diyusedi.
Chairman of Ugratara Area
Development Committee Tej Bahadur Sanki said that the devotees from
Sudurpaschim, Karnali Province and even from India thronged the site to observe
the fair.
It is believed that worshiping
Ugratara Goddess brings an end to natural disasters and ensures happiness and
