Janakpurdham, Nov 13: The Madhes Province government has so far included 15,953 girls under insurance scheme as part of the 'Chief Minister Beti Padhau, Beti Bachau' (Educate Daughters: Save Daughters) campaign.
The insurance scheme has been provided as part of the popular programme of women empowerment and social strengthening under the Madhes province pride project.
According to the Directorate of Education Development of Madhes Province, 59.75 million rupees have been spent so far for this insurance.
Kishori Kapar, the information officer of the directorate, informed about the advancement of economically, educationally and socially backward girls and the empowerment of women are being carried out under the scheme.
As part of the campaign, arrangements have been made for distribution of bicycles, education insurance for girls, construction of girl-friendly toilets, public service preparation classes, distribution of sanitary pads and scholarships.(RSS)
