By Bomlal Giri, Nawalparasi East, Nov.13: The people's representatives of the three districts have come together to stress the issue of delay in the expansion of the Narayangadh-Butwal road section.
People's representatives of Nawalparasi (East), Nawalparasi (West), and Rupandehi have come together to inform Prime Minister Oli about the impending construction of the Narayangadh-Butwal road section.
Bhagauti Yadav, Chief, of the District Coordination Committee, Nawalparasi (West), said that the decision to draw the attention of federal government agencies, including PM Oli, and put pressure has been made as the Chinese contractor failed to resume the construction work in a joint discussion held on Tuesday in Bardaghat Municipality of Nawalparasi (West).
In the discussion, Shashank Mishra, the project head of the western section of the road project, said that the contractor has been delaying the work due to lack of funds.
He said that even though the consultant company alerted the contractor company China State Construction Engineering Corporation by sending a Notice to Correct (NTC) about the delay in the work, the contractor company still has failed to resume work.
Stating that the NTC has been issued as a final warning to the contractor before the termination of the contract, Mishra said that the contract should be terminated if the work is not completed within the specified period.
