By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 19: The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal hosted a K-Culture KUKKIWON Taekwondo and a K-Pop dance performance on Thursday.

The 2024 K-Pop competition winners performed the show at the Nepal Academy in Kathmandu to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the Republic of Korea.

On the same day, the Korean Restaurant Association in Kathmandu organised K-food stalls and offered traditional Korean play experiences as part of a pre-performance event. 

Issuing a press release, the embassy informed that the year 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Nepal and Korea.

 The KUKKIWON Taekwondo demonstration team showcased the essence of Korea’s national martial art and its advanced techniques and skills. The team has visited over 150 countries around the world, serving as citizen diplomats promoting Korea's Taekwondo and K-Culture.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Nepal, Park Taeyoung, highlighted that the Embassy has been organising various programmes in cultural, economic, and developmental areas to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. He also expressed that through cooperation, the close ties between Nepal and Korea will be further strengthened, and the bilateral relationship will reach new heights.

Additionally, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea is organising the Ambassador Cup Taekwondo Competition from Friday.
