New Dharahara open to public from today, 500 a day can climb without charge

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept.19: The government has brought Dharahara Tower into operation from today. 

The meeting of the Council of Ministers on September 12 decided to make Darahara open to the public.

According to the Central Level Project Implementation Unit Ministry of Urban Development, 500 people at maximum can climb the tower in a day.

It is said that there will be no charge for the time being.

Dharahara, now with 22 floors, preserves the ruins of the old tower. It also features a three-storey underground parking area, an administrative building, a museum, and a garden.
