By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept.10: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the scientists to engage in new inventions and research that are necessary for the development and prosperity of the country.

In the 47th Academic Assembly of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) organized at the official residence of the Prime Minister in Baluwatar on Tuesday, PM Oli, who is also chancellor of NAST, asked to research on issues such as how the soil that is mixed with chemicals fertilizers and pesticides can be treated.

He expressed his belief that if there is research on issues such as how to prevent poisonous germs in vegetables and products and to retain the necessary germs, will help in increasing production and productivity.

PM Oli said, "Research a subject that is needed instead of randomly. There should be a collaboration with organizations like Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) for research in the agricultural sector. Administratively, I will lead by maintaining the good governance in the country. I request you scientists to contribute to the change of the country by making discoveries and research."
