Over 2,400 Nepalis benefit from document certification mobile camp in Portugal

Lisbon (Portugal), Sept 10: More than 2,400 Nepalis have benefited from a document certification mobile service camp organized in Portugal. 

Altogether 2,468 Nepalis working and living in Portugal availed of the consular-related services including documents certification from the mobile service camp organized in Lisbon by the Embassy of Nepal in France.

Ambassador of Nepal to France Sudheer Bhattarai, who is Nepal's non-residential ambassador to Portugal, said that 2,448 character certificates issued by Nepal Police, 16 academic qualification certificates, two travel permits and one authorization letter were certified and 20 personal incidents were registered in the camp.

According to him, revenue worth 246 thousand and 640 Euro or NRs 36 million 709 thousand and 900 was collected for providing these services. 

Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy, Sita Basnet and Third Secretary Dipendra Prasad Saha were assigned in the service camp which provided consular services including document certification from August 30 to September 7. The services were provided from the office of the Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA), Portugal.

The NRNA Portugal and other Nepalis' organizations based in Portugal helped with coordinating the mobile services.

It may be noted here that the Department of Passport and the Nepali Embassy in Paris had organized a mobile passport renewal service in Lisbon, Portugal, from August 2 to August 13. During this period, 3,829 Nepalis utilized the service to renew their passports. (RSS)
