Govt is working to make citizens happy: DPM Singh

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept 9: Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh has said that the government has been working to ensure the nation's prosperity and to make citizens happy.

He made the remarks while receiving a memorandum submitted by Sher Bahadur Tamang on behalf of the Urban Development Department of CPN (UML) at the Ministry of Urban Development on Monday.  

He mentioned that the government is taking the necessary initiative to satisfy the people’s expectations. 

Minister Singh added that a lack of necessary acts has been the main obstacle to the implementation of a well-planned urban development process. Therefore, this government has made amendments to the acts its primary priority.

Singh said that he has been emphatically moving forward for development work and formulation of policy since he came to the ministry. He also believes that the necessary help would be offered from all sides. 

DPM Singh vowed that the life of the people living in rural municipalities and municipalities must be convenient. For this, he said the focus should be concentrated on availing all the facilities needed in the village and city while proceeding with the development. 

He said, “The government is working to build essential infrastructure in villages”. The urban development department of UML has submitted a memorandum that includes recommendations for well planned city.
