Morang, Sept 9: Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki, has said both corruption and corrupt people are enemies to country's progress.
At an interaction 'National Strategy and Action Plan against Corruption' organized by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Kathmandu, here today, Chief Minister Karki laid emphasis on the need of establishing Nepal as corruption-free country.
Stressing on zero tolerance on corruption, he pointed out that all—political, administrative leadership and security bodies - should express commitment for the same.
A policy-level plan would be prepared by holding necessary discussions in order to make strategy against corruption in the province, underlined CM Karki, expressing the belief that remarkable achievement would be made if activities are carried out developing rule, policy and commitment.
He shared, "We all should cooperate from respective sides as it is necessary to control corruption in order to establish a positive identity of the country in the international arena."
Similarly, Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Phanindra Gautam, Joint-Secretary Rajendra Thapa, Under-Secretary Om Prakash Parajuli, pointed out the need of monitoring by identifying risk of corruption and preparing action plan against corruption in province and local bodies and implement it.
Members of Koshi Province Assembly, mayor and deputy mayors of municipalities, employees of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, chiefs of District-based security bodies, among others were present on the occasion. (RSS)
