PM Oli awards Women Volleyball Players

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug.29: Prime minister KP Sharma Oli has distributed prizes to players participating in the Cava women’s nations' volleyball tournament, 2024', on Thursday. 

PM Oli distributed the award to 14 players including captain Aruna Shahi with each receiving Rs 300,000 amid a program organized at a Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar. Along with this, head coach Jagadish Prasad Bhatta received  Rs 200,000 assistant coach Bharat Yadav, manager Nilam Singh  Bajracharya, and physiotherapist Lokendra Kunwar each received Rs 150,000. 

The Nepali women’s volleyball team had clinched silver in the tournament, which was held from August 1 to August 7 with a cash prize of Rs 300,000 each. 

The Cabinet meeting held on August 16 decided to honor the 14 players who represented Nepal in the tournament held in Kathmandu. 

PM Oli spent approximately two hours this morning engaging with the National Women's Volleyball Team on August 18. 

The discussions primarily focused on the team's achievements, the need for further infrastructural development, and strategies for securing greater success for Nepal in international competitions.

PM Oli said, "I believe that this appreciation has added aspiration for success and progress among the Nepali female players. This prize connects good wishes for further success. The government will give utmost effort to create an atmosphere for continuous practice, a source of inspiration, and infrastructure. Move ahead with a strong determination to win till the end wherever you play and go. " 

 Recalling his decision to upgrade the Kirtipur sports ground within 300 days when he took office, Oli assured that it would be implemented. He also directed the relevant authorities to prepare well for the upcoming 10th National Games.

The Prime Minister expressed regret that the Dasharath Stadium became muddy during recent matches and instructed that the stadium be used only for appropriate sporting events and not be misused for other purposes.
