Landslide blocks Gokuleshwar-Khalanga section of Mahakali highway

Darchula, Aug 28: Vehicular movement on the Gokuleshwar-Khalanga section of Mahakali highway has been disrupted due to a dry landslide at Melkhet Dhamigada of Malikarjun rural municipality-8 this morning. 

The road section has been blocked by the deposition of landslide debris at various locations on the road section. Vehicles entering and exiting the district have been stranded due to the disruption of the road section. 

Although a scavator of the Division Road Office Baitadi Patan has been pressed into service for removing the landslide debris since the morning, large boulders that fell on to the road along with the landslide could not be removed. 

Supervisor at the Office Ganesh Bohara said a scavator for breaking the boulders has been called and the road section would be opened only after the boulders are broken and removed. (RSS)
