'Consensus of opposition parties must for constitution amendment'

Kathmandu, Aug 27: Lawmaker Narayan Prakash Saud has requested the government to focus its attention in implimentation  of agreement of amending constitution signed between the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) in course of forming a new government.     

Speaking in a special hour of today's meeting of the House of Representatives, he mentioned that there should be national consensus among different parties, government and opposition parties for constitution amendment as political stability is must for it.     

The constitution should be amended without weakening the rights guaranteed for women, indigenous nationalities, Madhesi, Dalits, disabled persons and oppressed community, stressed leader Saud, adding all parties should be committed on the issue of constitution amendment.     

He explained that the opposition parties should move ahead positively to resolve the complexities of the constitution.     

Likewise, lawmaker Raghuji Panta urged the opposition parties to support the government in a positive manner, stating constitution should be amended at advice, suggestion and understanding of all parties though the CPN (UML) and NC have formed the government.(RSS)
