Over 45 Nepali pilgrims injured in India bus accident

Bara, Aug 25: A bus carrying pilgrims from Nepal has met with an accident in India. The bus (Na 7 Kha 6446) met with an accident on Saturday night at Samastipur India, resulting in 45 injuries. Of them, three are reported to be seriously injured.     

A total of 47 people including 25 women and six children were travelling in the bus and two are unharmed.     

According to District Police Office Bara's Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson, Prakash Sapkota, Dev Narayan Pundit, Subodh Shah Teli and a nine-year-old girl are critically injured in the accident happened when, as the Indian security force, a truck hit it from backside.     

It is said the bus was carrying people to religious shrines in India including Devghar Babadham in Bihar. All of them are said to be from Murtipaliya of Baragadhi rural municipality-3 in Bara, according to DSP Sapkota.     

The injured are being treated at the Samastipur Sadar Hospital and other private clinics there. It entered India via the Raxaul checkpoint at 11:00 am on Saturday. The bus is owned by Rajaram Shah of Baragadi-1, it is said. (RSS)
