Discrimination in education against spirit of socialism: Former President Yadav

Kathmandu, Aug 22: Former President Dr Rambaran Yadav has said that the discrimination in education was against the norms of democratic socialism.     

Addressing a programme organized by Nepali Congress Professional Intellectual Department in memory of late leader and socialist thinker Pradeep Giri here today, the former Head of the State, argued that having the provision of two types of schools in the country (private and community) were against the spirit of socialism. He further urged stakeholders to be alert on such issues as education bill was under consideration in the parliament.     

NC leader Dr Chandra Bhandari argued that the Education Ministry and Universities should develop socialistic programmes.     

Similarly, Professor Krishna Khanal, Dr Uddhav Sigdel and NC leader and Department head Dr Dila Sangraula were of the view to develop educational programmes and policies in line with socialism propounded by NC Founder leader BP Koirala.(RSS)
